World’s deepest pool opens in Dubai, part of huge underwater city,
Dubai is already home to the biggest mall and the highest tower in the world, and it recently launched the world's deepest dive pool, setting a new record.
At 60 metres (approximately 197 feet), Deep Dive Dubai is the world's deepest pool, as confirmed by Guinness World Records. It holds 14 million litres (about 3.7 million gallons) of water. That's almost six Olympic-sized swimming pools, to be exact.
The pool is situated south of Dubai Creek in the Nad Al Sheba neighbourhood. With its enormous oyster-like shape, which pays homage to the Persian Gulf's pearl diving heritage, it is equipped with the newest technology available for divers, such as the most sophisticated hyperbaric chamber in the area, cutting-edge lighting, music, and mood system, and an intense filtration system that cycles the water every six hours using UV radiation, volcanic rock, and NASA technology.
You can investigate the complexities of a "sunken city" inside the pool, which features "abandoned" apartment buildings, an underwater arcade, submerged cars and musical instruments, and more.
Bin Habtoor stated that the Deep Dive Dubai team "hope[s] to embody the determination of Emirati explorers and innovators, both past and present, as well as provide a platform for future achievements and discoveries."
With programming suitable for all ages and skill levels, the pool draws in snorkelers, scuba divers, and free divers alike. Scuba, snorkelling, and introductory free diving classes are available for beginners, and certified divers can arrange to go on a guided dive down to the pool's bottom. You don't need to worry about checking diving gear on your flight because all necessary equipment is provided.
